The Guild is a professional organisation for pharmacists working in hospitals, both public and private, health authorities, health boards, primary care groups, Community health partnerships, general practices and elsewhere in the managed services. It is the only totally independent voice for these pharmacists at both local and national level. The Guild provides it's members a range of educational, scientific and professional activities in addition to comprehensive industrial relations support.

Objectives of The Guild of Healthcare Pharmacists

To improve the economic and social well being of the members, to enhance their status and to watch over, promote and protect their interests.
To promote by all possible means the contribution of healthcare pharmacists to the development of pharmaceutical services.
To contribute to the development of pharmaceutical education both at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
To contribute to health care issues of the day.
To develop working relationships with other pharmaceutical organisations.
To promote the objectives of Unite and to undertake any activity authorised by Guild Council in pursuance of the interests of members.

It is possible to join over the web through the Unite website, but you must ensure that you specify 'Hospital Pharmacist' when you are asked for your job title otherwise you may not be allocated to the Guild. Alternatively, you can download an application form in pdf format (149kb).
