NHS pay review body

The recommendations of the NHS pay review body were announced today and staff will be receiving a 2.5% increase from 1st April. It is expected that staff not covered by the review body will also have a 2.5% pay increase. Doctors will receive a 2.2 % increase but the consultants' award is staged to November 2006.The 2.5% increase applies to basic pay and to the minima and maxima of the high cost area supplements. There are no recommendations for national recruitment and retention premia for any staff covered by the review body.
