Group Meetings

Attendance at 2002 AGM

The Group A.G.M. was fairly well attended with around 12 members present.

Group Meetings

Since the last annual report, there have been six group meetings; two professional meetings, two business meetings and two social meetings.
Average attendance at the meetings was around 20, with the social events being the best attended as usual and considerably raising the average.

The District Member was in attendance at all of the meetings.

The Group Committee met once to determine the syllabus for the 2002/2003 session.

Membership at January 2003 is 300.

The Group was represented at the Group Secretaries Day by the District Member.

The Group was not represented at the Group Delegates Meeting in 2002 for the first time in many years.


Review of Group Activities

Thursday 23rd May 2002

This was the AGM and the last meeting in the 2001/2002 session. The meeting was addressed by Michael Fuller and mainly centred on Agenda forChange. A full report of the meeting was posted on the www.ghpscot.org.uk website. The Group Committee was elected at the meeting, and the office bearers appointed were -

Thursday 20th June 2002

This was the Syllabus Meeting to decide the programme for the 2002/2003 session.

Thursday 5th September 2002

This was the annual ten-pin bowling competition. The winners this year were the team from Hairmyres Hospital in East Kilbride.

Wednesday 9th October 2002

This meeting discussed Agenda for Change and was addressed by Regional Officer Michael Fuller. A full report of the meeting was posted on the www.ghpscot.org.uk website.

Thursday 14th November 2002

This was a joint meeting with the Glasgow & West of Scotland Branch of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain on ethical dilemmas in decision making This was addressed by Joy Wingfield.

Three meetings of the session remain. First is the annual quiz night on 13th February. The second is a joint meeting with SCPPE and CPP on CPD and portfolios on 7th March. The third is the A.G.M. which takes place on Thursday 10th April.


Other Group Information

Agenda for Change has stirred up some of the members of the Group, but reps are still needed in many areas.
