Enfield PCT achieved IWL practice status earlier in the year and as part of the review it was identified that they could do more to promote and support a wider range of flexible working. The Trust's work on IWL and, in particular work life balance, has led to the development of a Work Life Balance Handbook which was well received by employees of the Trust. In addition, and in collaboration with the London Programme Management Office, our Handbook was also shared with delegates at the London IWL Conferences in July, with a full copy of the Handbook being made available to every Trust in London.
The Handbook includes Enfield Pct's Work Life Balance policy, supporting operational guidance and further information for Maternity, Paternity and Adoption leave. The purpose of the handbook is:
- To provide one central source of information which includes new and existing provisions
- To meet new legislation
- To offer a range of opportunities and provisions to support staff in managing a sensible work life balance
