A number of NHS employers have sought clarification on the calculation of AfC assimilation earnings. In particular one London strategic health authority had called a halt to any assimilation of staff to AfC in the trusts for which it was responsible until the issue was settled at national level on a jointly agreed basis.
Agreement has now been reached and the attached letter 
gives the formal advice which NHS employers are expected to follow.
