District Member's Report for Guild Council Meeting 9.2.2006

Group Meetings
There have been no meetings of the local group since the last Council meeting. Both a ten-pin bowling evening and a quiz night have been arranged for early 2006. The AGM will take place before the quiz starts.

Agenda for Change
Most Health Boards have told SEHD that all staff will have been matched and assimilated by the end of March, however likely that might be.

Knowledge and Skills Framework
I have now attended several meetings of a group set up to look at KSF in pharmacy in Greater Glasgow. The aim is to achieve a level of consistency across the Health Board and, ideally, KSF outlines consistent with the rest of Scotland.

Organisational Change
There is still very little information about how the various departments, functions and staff will be integrated into NHS Greater Glasgow when the dissolution of NHS Argyll & Clyde goes ahead.
When NHS Argyll and Clyde is dissolved on 31 March 2006, NHS Highland's boundary will be changed to include the area of Argyll and Bute Council. The remainder of the area of the dissolved Board will join NHS Greater Glasgow.
Throughout the consultation on NHS Argyll and Clyde’s boundaries, there was debate and speculation as to whether on not an enlarged NHS Greater Glasgow would have to change its name to reflect its new geographical area. The Scottish Executive have confirmed that this remains a possibility, but must not cost any money.

Membership
I have processed a couple of new membership forms since the last meeting.

Council Reorganisation
Due to the changes in Council agreed by members in November, this is the last District Member report that will be filed for the Scotland West District. In future, all of Scotland will be represented by a Regional Member who may, or may not, be required to submit a report. If possible, I will ensure that any such reports are available on the website.

I would like to record my thanks to all those accredited representatives who regularly responded to my requests for information for this report over the last 13 years.
